From business center to coworking and vice versa by Coolab

By coworkingspain

The evolution of the business centers towards the concept of coworking goes hand in hand with the change of the client profile and their needs. While the business centers were born with a more corporate profile, focused on executives and companies that wanted to see their usual logistics problems solved, without having to spend practically time; Coworking spaces begin with the help of the most independent entrepreneurs and with a series of simpler services.

With the arrival of digital nomads and telecommuting, along with the impulse of the freelance figure, the feeling of belonging cracks and the need to be part of a community becomes more necessary than ever. They are looking for spaces that are flexible in terms of schedules or services but, above all, that are capable of capturing the vital pulse of the professionals who inhabit it.

The concept of community is not only articulated around leisure activities, but in maximizing the potential of each idea and each project from the collaboration. This is how coworking begins to incorporate companies and institutions into their spaces and how business centers grow with the energy of the entrepreneur.

We are currently experiencing a situation in which both concepts converge to the extent that they are aware of taking care of community values and having a more inclusive vision when it comes to adapting their spaces and services. The process of synergy between the figure of the entrepreneur or the start-up, with small and medium-sized companies or even with institutions, is also born from this networking, which is produced by fostering collaboration and community.

For our part we have seen an evolution in the client profile that requested our spaces linked to our evolution towards coworking, but also to our geographical location. It is increasingly difficult to approach the city center and those spaces that can serve other urban areas are more valued by users.

On the other hand, the growth of cities has meant that business centers that were previously outside, are now located at key points between large population centers. The advantage of avoiding traffic jams and long journeys on public transport, avoiding crowds and being practically next to home, are attracting new users that have to do with the traditional executive profile.
