September 2020. CoworkingSpain.es has published its study on the current situation of the Coworking sector, its evolution in recent years and the influence of COVID 19 on the demand for space in the sector.
It should be noted that 10% of the operators, with about 128 spaces, control almost 60% of the sector, about 360,000m2.
Among the most important operators it is worth highlighting the competition between WeWork, Utopicus (Colonial group) and Spaces (IWG).
WeWork has the largest Coworking space in Spain with 13,500m2 on Paseo de la Castellana 77, in Madrid.
Barcelona has 248 Coworking spaces, which occupy 169,000m2, compared to 231 spaces in Madrid, which occupy a total of 233,000m2. Madrid spaces have a larger dimension, with 1,100m2 on average compared to 681m2 on average for spaces in Barcelona.
The average price of a table in a shared space is € 170 / person / month, without great variations between provinces.
Interest in this type of space fell by about 40% during the months of the pandemic, to rebound surprisingly in the following months.
