- Promoted by the Daniel and Nina Carasso Foundation, this is a business project with a sustainable business model that aims to demonstrate the viability of innovative initiatives with social impact.
The hybridisation of knowledge is expanding in the capital of Madrid with the announcement of the creation of Infinito Delicias, a new hub model that will open its doors in June 2025. Located in the Delicias neighbourhood, this 2,700-square-metre urban laboratory intertwines innovation, art, culture and gastronomy in a dynamic space for living, working and experimenting.
Infinito Delicias was born as part of an ambitious project by the Daniel and Nina Carasso Foundation, with the mission of becoming a benchmark for innovation, sustainable food and citizen art, reflecting and amplifying the spirit of the foundation.
More than a place of work and experimentation, Infinito Delicias is a unique space that brings together companies, foundations, artists and citizens to inspire new projects in the field of innovation, culture and sustainability.
At this hub, which will be located at 5 Juana Doña Street, visitors and users will be able to find everything from coworking spaces and event rooms to a public square with cultural programming, a restaurant, gardens and urban orchards.
It will also feature residencies for artists and scientists, as well as laboratories and experimental kitchens, creating a unique environment for the exchange of ideas.
There are several organizations that firmly believe in the project and have begun to form part of this urban laboratory, such as Atelier itd. Miguel Soberón, director of this foundation, highlights that “in this space where art, culture, sustainability and citizenship converge, we find the ideal environment to experiment and jointly seek collaborative, sustainable and fair solutions.”
A living representation of the concept of “Third Place” As a response to the growing need of cities to have hybrid zones, beyond the traditional divisions of home (first place) and office (second place).
place), Infinito Delicias emerges as a living representation of the concept of “third place” and is configured as something less defined and more open: a free meeting space that connects universes and encourages collaboration between citizens, companies and foundations.
This business project invites you to participate in a unique dynamic of open innovation and collaboration, in order to imagine and develop concrete solutions to current and future challenges.
After five years of study, co-design and planning with the teams from Husos Arquitecturas, Elii [architecture office] and Ultrazul, construction of this new urban laboratory began in September 2023, starting with the transformation of old industrial warehouses in the Delicias neighbourhood of Madrid. Both the project design and construction are being carried out with a firm commitment to the highest standards of sustainability, which has earned it the recognition of the Gold Prize-Europe 2023 awarded by the Holcim awards for sustainable architecture.
“Our goal at Infinito Delicias is to experiment with a new model of hybridisation between the world of culture and the business sector, a catalyst for citizen innovation that demonstrates the economic viability of projects with a positive impact. If we manage to create sustainable businesses for culture, creative industries and social innovation, this model could be replicated and transform our cities,” says Francesco Cingolani, director of Infinito Delicias.
